In 2011 Reasonable Cause held a criminal CLE / CPD conference on 17-18 September to raise funds for Sunrise Children’s Villages of Cambodia. As a result, a net profit of $14,283-15 was forwarded to that charity.
The funds were used in the construction of a new “Sunrise” orphanage located in Sihanoukville, in southern Cambodia. This new orphanage specialises in caring for Cambodian orphans who are HIV positive. Specifically, the funds were set aside for the development of a basketball court, which was not part of the original plan, but was added as a result of funds raised at the 2011 Reasonable Cause CLE. Apart from basketball, the court is also used for roller-blading, a popular activity with the children.
